The
Australian Macedonian Folk Dancing
Association "Goce Delcev" was founded
in 1989 in Melbourne, Australia. There
are two dancing groups made up of
younger and older children.
All
children wishing to learn Macedonian
dancing and to participate in the
Macedonian culture are welcome and
encouraged to join this association.
Our current membership amongst the two
dancing groups consists of 80 boys and
girls ranging from the age 4-20.
The
Choreographers of these dancing groups
are Zoran Anakiev and Steven Ilijovski
who both speak Macedonian and English.
Parents of the children and members of
the association have a close working
relationship to ensure the prosperity
in various festivals and other
cultural events. We are especially
proud of our achievements in August
2003 when our dancing group was
awarded first place at the "Ilindenski
Festival".
We
would like to thank the Government of
Victoria and our sponsors for their
long standing financial support which
has been invaluable to the success of
this association.
